Getting to Denver won’t be the most expensive part of the trip, in my opinion. If you are flying from a major city, you can find a solid deal for a Denver weekend trip. The next task is having a rental car for the weekend. I highly recommend booking a 4×4 vehicle that can help you drive on snowy roads if you are planning to venture into the mountain towns.
Pro Tip: Avoid waiting in the long line for your rental by joining the rental company’s priority membership (Budget’s Membership program, Hertz Presidental Status, etc.)

Day 1: Evening Hangs 🌙
For this Denver weekend trip, we booked the perfect place to stay: a three-story townhouse right in South Central. And yes, you can walk to everything nearby, coffee shops, street art, patio happy hour, and even a nature trail called Cherry Creek. Arriving at our Airbnb made us feel right at home from amazing hosts @chatterclub—between the snacks, beverages and those Rocky Mountain views.
Once we settled into our new home for the weekend, we headed over to Barcelona Wine Bar for a late-night dinner. Their tapas made from scratch were sure to cure anything that ails you. Looking for a good local haunt, our bartender suggested we go to Gold Point Bar. Since their beautiful patio was frozen, we went inside with all the hipsters to sip on lavish whiskey cocktails.

Day 2: Spent Exploring the City! 🌆
We spent the morning eating the only way we knew how: with biscuits that were bigger than our heads at Denver Biscuit Co. After a coffee and a mimosa, we wandered down to the nearby shops to see if the locals were out strolling around for the day. We were lucky to stumble upon art galleries, book shops with cocktails, and of course, an afternoon donut (or three).
One of the places that makes a Denver weekend trip unique is none other than Meow Wolf. After shopping all day, we closed out the evening with this immersive art experience (open until midnight on weekends!) We found ourselves venturing through four stories of sheer wonder. From Japanese-inspired storefronts to Avatar-inspired forests, it’s an exhibit you have to see to believe.
